Just when I thought I said all I could say

Hi there Hots and Fits!

 

How are you doing?

Is it FREEZING wherever you are at, too?

This winter is beyond ridiculous at this point. I have never had such a cold winter.

 

Too many icicles are hanging from the roof which is actually quite scary. I had to take a long broomstick and break them

Also, have I mentioned the numerous times I have slipped these last few days? I am literally walking on a sheet of ice. Yikes. When will spring get here?

 

So, in other news…as you all know, I constantly bring up the FOOD issue on the blog. I consider myself to be very healthy; I constantly exercise (every day, at least for 40 minutes) and I aim to eat as raw as possible (is that even grammatically correct?). But oftentimes, especially during the winter, I fall short. I can be very critical of myself but I suppose habits that stay for a life time take….well, time.

Things are usually difficult when I am at home hanging out with the rest of the home dwellers. They have no sense of healthy living. See, for example, today I walked into the kitchen to find this:

For me, having these in front of my face is not easy (I still have not shown you the casa’s pantry!) but at the same time I love my home dwellers too much to put my foot down and make them stop. They enjoy it and they are happy that way. I’d be selfish if I tried to impose my life style upon them .

So, what am I trying to do? I am really planning everything. Which means I list down my workouts and meals the week before. I hate doing that (for meals, that is). It requires my brain to work extra hard and besides I am exceptionally spontaneous and this seems like the opposite. But I do it anyhow.

This week it has worked quite well. Till today. I inhaled too much cake. I try not to make it destroy the rest. But the truth is, Hots and Fits, at the moment I am just a wanna-be Hot and Fit. I’d say that about 90% of my pants are too tight, which makes me stick to these:

I don’t want to make this any more depressing. Obviously this is also an issue that is bound to raise serious controversy. In the good news, I will tell you that I am slowly progressing towards INSANITY’s MAX Workouts. I did one last Saturday and will do one tomorrow AM. Total kick-ass. I love Shaun T. I wish I lived near so I could stalk him and pretend to join his workouts.

 

And because I want to make sure I am insert a word I cannot remember right now dedicated, I shall plan out my workout schedule for this weekend. Workout only, cause my eats are seriously oh-so-boring

Friday: AM Insanity Max Interval Circuit, PM WSU Challenge

Saturday: AM Insanity Max Plyometric Circuit, PM P90X’s Yoga X

Sunday: AM P90X’s Kenpo X, PM WSU Challenge

 

I shall now finish off in a true Hot and Fit fashion. One of my favourite celebs, Jennifer Garner (any Alias fans out there??) was quoted saying that not enough money in the world will get her to pose in a bikini:

If you want to see me in a bathing suit, you can go to season something of Alias and I wore a bathing suit for an episode. Go watch that, because that looked good!

Victoria Beckham and Avatar Review

Greetings Hots and Fits!!

Yesterday I took my little brother to see Avatar. He has been longing to see the movie and I was politely trying to get away from my sibling duty with excuses, but I was not able to keep it up much longer.

I was seriously dreading the two-and-a-half hours I was going to have to sit and watch it. We were late getting there (left the casa too late) and to make matters even worse I got seats so close to the screen. I hate sitting close to the screen. I feel like my eyes can’t absorb the whole picture.

Okay well the movie was, in my opinion, the extreme absurdity of science fiction. Gosh. It lasted three hours with the break. Nasty looking creatures, and then those aliens with their tails and well those of you who saw it get my point. What I will say is that for the three hours in which it run – it actually kept my attention. Perhaps because I knew I couldn’t just leave the brother alone in the cinema. Point is, I got better things to do.

I didn’t exercise Saturday cause I vacuumed the entire casa for almost two hours and that definitely counts as a workout in my books.

This morning I spent a whole lot of time watching telenovelas and catching up on Gossip Girl. I just gotta watch episode 12 now, but then I am behind on Grey’s Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters. Oh gosh, the concerns I have!

I cannot believe Rob Lowe is leaving!!! I cannot imagine the show without him. I really truly like him. I think they should have a spinoff for him and Kitty or something. I won’t be able to stand the show longer without him.

In terms of exercise, I did INSANITY’s Pure Cardio workout today with my little brother (I think he was just trying to get away from doing his maths homework, but he stuck to it as much as he could). My back pain is still the same, despite BenGay and Ibalgin. I know that if I had the chance to run it would go away (no squatting involved) but you can’t always get what you want.

After lunch and more procrastination I did The Fitnessista’s Winter Shape Up Challenge. This time I wore my Polar and wow – this is a serious kick ass workout! I burned 300 calories from just doing a five minute workout and doing the circuit three times. If I ever get stuck in a rut I could just do an INSANITY-like warm up for 10 minutes and then the circuit 4 times. I will be feeling it and dripping it.

In other news, ya’ll know I am a Victoria Beckham fan. There is no rational explanation behind this sentiment. I just happen to like her. Maybe its those Spice Girls memories. Anyways, compare and contrast.

Rounding Up 2009: The Fittest Male Celebrity

Wow. I couldn’t agree more.

Fitsugar readers have voted Taylor Lautner as the hottest fittest male celebrity of 2009.

Jordan Yuam (his trainer) has to be very good. There aren’t many details available, but from what I read on Men’s Health, he hit the gym at least 5 times a week for 2 hours, and took in a lot of protein.

I also read a rumor somewhere in a tiblid (another of my home dwellers is obsessed with all-things-Hollywood) that he had to have taken some steroids. The tiblid justified the claim using this picture:

Apparently it is supposed to be impossible to gain 26 pounds of muscle at this age, and at such a short time.

I don’t really think it matters.

He is definitely the fittest celebrity of the year. And it looks like he worked SO hard for it. I totally admire his efforts.

I should probably list the other options were, but I can’t think of anybody who was that Hot and Fit this year! Although Kellan Lutz, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds look like they were working it.

Fergie for Marie Claire

Happy Hump Day, Hots and Fits! We open Wednesday with a Fergielicious post!

Just about a month ago we reported how Fergie talked to Allure about her weight gain and loss for the movie Nine (also staring Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Jodi Dench, Kate Hudson and Sophia Loren).

For Marie Claire’s August issue, Fergie talks about losing the 17 pounds she put on for her role as Saraghina.

For those who are wondering, here are the IMDB details and the movie shall premier in November!

On how she lost the weight:

“I’ve been busting my ass, training.  Being around the guys, they’re like a fraternity—I know what they look at. I don’t want to have a song like ‘My Humps’ and it be sagging down, so I pay attention to that area. A lot.”

Fergie on Weight Gain

US Magazine reports that when the director of Nine asked Fergie and Penelope Cruz to add some weight to their frame, they obliged.

Here is what Fergie recently told Allure Magazine for their July issue (don’t forget to scroll down for the pictures!)

On their eats:

"We were eating our brains out. We ordered everything fried and full of fat and salty”

On why and how she got back into shape:

Fergie says she lamented about not being able to fit into her skinny jeans, and the constant pregnancy rumors thanks to her new curves.

"If I don’t do sit-ups, my stomach sticks out," Fergie explains. "Legs are easy for me. That’s my lucky spot."

She hired husband Josh Duhamel’s trainer to run her through two-hour sessions several times a week. Together they lifted weights, went hiking outdoors and used the jump rope for extra cardio.
